Former Best Buy Vice Chairman Allen U. Lenzmeier was named to the board of trustees for the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation in 2013.
Career Spans Finance and Operations
A longtime colleague of the Foundation’s benefactor, Richard Schulze, Lenzmeier has held a variety of leadership positions during his three-decade career with Best Buy. He joined the company in 1984 as chief financial officer and later served as Executive vice president, Senior vice president of Finance and Operations, Treasurer, President of Best Buy Retail Stores, President and chief operating officer of Best Buy Co., Inc., and Vice Chairman until his retirement in 2009. He also served on the Best Buy board of directors from 2001 to 2010 and rejoined the Board in 2013.
Lenzmeier currently serves on the boards of Envoy Medical Corp., a medical device company, and American TeleCare Inc., a telehealth industry company, both privately held companies.
Involvement With Youth Organizations
Long committed to youth organizations, Lenzmeier serves on governing boards for the Twin Cities branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the advisory board for PACER Center, which expands opportunities and enhances the quality of life for children and young adults with disabilities and their families. He also serves on the boards of the Minnesota Orchestra Association and Micro Grants.
A certified public accountant, Lenzmeier received a Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Lenzmeier and his wife, Kathleen, live in Minneapolis and have three adult children.
