Purpose.  The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation (RMSFF) places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy was created in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of our website users.  This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand generally how our website, www.schulzefamilyfoundation.org, collects personally identifying information about you and how RMSFF uses and discloses that personal information.  By using this website you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy, as well as the terms set forth in our Terms of Use document. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any other websites, and we make no representations as to the privacy practices of other websites.  Also, this Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect through methods other than this website.


We collect a variety of information about visitors to our website. Some of the information we collect is personal information you knowingly, voluntarily, and manually provide when you use this website.  For example, in filling out forms you may provide us with information such as your email address, name, organization you work for and its EIN/tax ID, home or work address, and telephone and fax number. If you are an applicant for a scholarship grant, you may also provide us with your transcript, test scores, resume and financial information. It is always your choice whether to provide personal information. However, some information must be provided to participate in certain programs or activities of RMSFF (such as to apply for a grant), so the decision not to provide information might limit or eliminate certain functions of this website or the ability to participate.  Do not supply personal information about others unless you are authorized or required to do so by applicable law or contract.

Sometimes we collect information about you without you having to enter any information on the website. For example, we may receive personal information from public sources or from third parties (which we may combine with other information from other sources).  In addition, we collect some information automatically from visitors to this website:  for example, through the use of “cookies,” “Web beacons,” and other tracking mechanisms.  We collect at least the following: your host for Internet access; the Internet address of the site from which you came including the click stream to, through and from our website; the date and time of your access; your computer’s IP address and information about its operating system, browser and host; the date and time you access the website and the pages you visit and searches you conduct on our website.   • to contact you about material changes in our site terms or policies;
  • to operate this website, to maintain the quality of this website, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our website;
  • to comply with the law or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform with the requirements of law or to comply with legal process served on us; and
  • if you sign up for a blog, feed or newsletter, to include you in our mailing list.

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others, and we do not otherwise share your personal information with others except as provided in this Privacy Policy.

To the extent that our systems require your personal information, in general, or provide links to affiliate sites which collect your personal information (such as Foundant Technologies, a web-based grant management system where personal or organizational information is maintained and governed by Foundant’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use), they provide the ability for you to update your information or change your preferences.  If you have any questions about what personal information about you RMSFF retains, please contact us at 952.324.8910.  We endeavor to keep your personal information accurate and up to date.  If your personal information has changed, you may submit your new information via our website as well.  We keep personal information for as long as we think is necessary or advisable and we reserve the right to retain it to the full extent not prohibited by law. We may discard personal information in our discretion, so you should retain your own records, and not rely upon our storage of any personal information or other data.  We generally provide you with an opportunity “opt out” of from receiving communications from us or unsubscribe from electronic newsletters or promotional emails we send you.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information received from our users from unauthorized use or disclosure.

Our website provides hyperlinks to other sites which are not under the control of RMSFF. These links are provided for your convenience and for your reference only. These links are not intended as an endorsement by RMSFF of the information contained on these websites or of the individual(s) operating these website(s).RMSFF is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites hyperlinked to its website. We do not want to collect information from children. Do not provide any personal information unless you are at least 13 years of age, and please caution your children not to provide any. If a child under 13 has provided personal information, a parent or guardian may so inform us by writing us at Our Address for Legal Notices (see below) and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete it from our database, subject to applicable law and this Privacy Policy.

At this time, this website does not accept “do not track” requests from Web browsers.

We will be changing what we do and how and why we disclose data periodically—this Privacy Policy describes what we currently envision, but that will change as we change.
