On February 1, 2021, we launched the Best Buy HOPE (Helping Our People in Emergencies) Fund.  The HOPE Fund is a partnership between Best Buy and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. The charitable fund helps Best Buy employees manage unforeseen financial hardships.


The HOPE Fund is managed by The Minneapolis Foundation. If you have questions about the program or a current application, please contact them at eaf@mplsfoundation.org  or 612-672-3861.

  • Applicants must be a Best Buy, Inc. employee (or a subsidiary of Best Buy) with at least one year of collective service to Best Buy.
  • Applicants must face personal financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Examples of available assistance include medical and mental health expenses not covered by insurance, assistance with funeral expenses, and moving expenses due to unsafe living situations.
  • The incident that caused financial hardship must have occurred within 150 days of application.
  • The incident causing the financial hardship must be unexpected, outside the applicant’s control, and not qualify for disaster relief funds.
