A History of 20 Years of Giving
Dating back to the early 2000s, Best Buy’s Founder, Richard “Dick” Schulze, began and funded a company-wide program to help employees during times of great hardship. Today, his family foundation continues to fund an employee relief program for Best Buy employees impacted by federally declared disasters. The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation also supports the HOPE Fund, which helps Best Buy employees experiencing hardship that results from circumstances beyond a federally declared disaster.
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, Mr. Schulze and his family, hope all employees of Best Buy feel supported in their times of great need. They believe Best Buy employees are the backbone of the company’s success, and their ongoing financial support of Best Buy employees during times of suffering conveys their appreciation for all those employees have meant to them personally and to the company.

To Best Buy employees!
Disaster Relief
Dick Schulze and his late wife Sandra established a fund in 2004 to support Best Buy employees in time of need. The fund supports employees living with the aftermath of a federally declared natural disaster. Now, the fund is administered by the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, and it continues to help countless Best Buy employees during times of disaster.
HOPE Fund
In 2021, a charitable fund called The HOPE Fund was launched. It helps those experiencing the impact of an unforeseen event other than a federally declared
disaster. You may be eligible for assistance from
this fund, to which the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation contributes.
