Our Trustees Emeriti
Al served on the RMSFF board of trustees from 2013 – 2021.
A longtime colleague of our founder, Dick Schulze, Al held many leadership roles at Best Buy and served on the board for Envoy Medical Corp. and American TeleCare, Inc. and brought his love for and commitment to youth organizations, complementing the foundation’s mission. A philanthropist in his own right, Al has been very generous with many Minnesota non-profits.
Al continues to serve on board committees and advise the foundation as appropriate; we are grateful he is always within reach.
Bob served on the board of trustees from 2013 – 2022.
A professor and the 15th president of the University of Minnesota, Bob joined the board of trustees of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation in 2013. During his 40 years at the University, he brought advocacy for accountability and reform in higher education and a passion for academic quality and improvements in the student experience. He made student scholarships the University’s top private fundraising priority, raising more than $340 million and expanded the University’s need-based aid strategy to include guaranteed aid for all Minnesota students from low- and middle-income families. His ties with Minnesota business and industry strengthened while serving on the Itasca Project and the Minnesota Business Partnership. His experience brought great benefit to the foundation for the past almost decade.
Bob continues to serve on board committees and advise the foundation as appropriate; we are grateful he is only a call away.
