The Process

We work in two cycles — Spring and Fall:

• We open for spring letters of inquiry (LOIs) the previous fall.
• We open for fall letters of inquiry (LOIs) the previous spring.
• All funding requests begin with an LOI submission.

Our business process:

• All LOIs are reviewed by staff.
• Approved LOIs move to the application stage.
  • Prospective grantees are notified.
• Denied LOIs do not move to the next stage.
  • Prospective grantees are notified.

Our review process:

• Program officer site visits begin after the application stage.
• Program officer recommendations are submitted to the Board of Trustees.
• Board members approve or deny the recommendations at their respective board meetings.
• Awards and denials are communicated shortly after the board meetings.
