Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge Charleston Rededicated
“It’s a place where miracles happen,” said 71-year-old Charleston Hope Lodge resident Ed Hearn. A ribbon cutting and rededication ceremony held on May 9, 2025, officially reopened the doors of the newly renovated and named Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Charleston Hope Lodge.
The facility joins a long list of Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodges, which offer free lodging to traveling cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. Last year, the Charleston Hope Lodge provided over 10,000 free nights of accommodation, saving families over $1 million in lodging costs.
