The spring 2024 $5 million award is a foundation commitment to be paid over five years to Mayo Clinic investing in the development of artificial intelligence educational materials to be used across the Mayo Clinic system.

The gift will expand training and skill development in artificial intelligence for staff and others at Mayo Clinic. The gift also establishes the Richard M. Schulze Innovation Awards in Artificial Intelligence to foster activities that leverage artificial intelligence and improve patient outcomes.
