Our Awards

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation now awards in two grant cycles annually, spring and fall. We consider awards $50,000 and over to be major grants and we typically award $15,000 or less to organizations new to us and without an award history at the foundation. Below is a summary of our funding for the past three years; live links to our Education, Human Services, and Health & Medicine focus areas display examples of grantee recipients for that cycle.

  • The Foundation awarded $10.5 million in the spring 2020 grant cycle to Minnesota and Florida grantees to be paid in 2020 and succeeding years to programs in our Education, Human Services, and Health & Medicine focus areas.
  • The Foundation awarded over $20 million in 2019 to Minnesota and Florida grantees to be paid in 2019 and succeeding years to programs in our Education, Human Services, and Health & Medicine focus areas.
  • The Foundation awarded over $26 million in 2018 to Minnesota and Florida grantees to be paid in 2018 and succeeding years to programs in our Education, Human Services, and Health & Medicine focus areas.
