Best Buy Employee Disaster Relief Fund

Please note that there is a six-month deadline for submitting applications to the Disaster Relief Fund.  Deadlines for recent disasters are as follows:

  • Hurricane Barry – 1/10/20
  • Hurricane Dorian – 2/28/20
  • Tropical Storm Imelda – 3/19/20


Best Buy’s founder, Richard Schulze, and his late wife Sandra Schulze, established a fund with the intention that it be used to support employees of Best Buy who were experiencing the aftermath of disasters in their lives. The fund has helped hundreds of families through the generosity of the Schulze Family.

In 2004, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation was created as a way to give back to the community where Mr. Schulze and his family grew up and where he built Best Buy to become the world’s largest consumer electronics retailer. Now, Mr. Schulze and his family foundation are able to continue to provide assistance to Best Buy families in times of need.
