RMSFF Co-sponsors a Second Collier County Community Assessment
by Mary Beth Geier, Florida Director
It’s been five years since the last community assessment for Collier County, Florida. That assessment provided information about the strengths of the Collier community and identified areas of greatest need on which the community as a whole could focus.
The report was shared widely and was used in a variety of ways—from funders using the findings to guide their grant-making, to organizations identifying opportunities to make a bigger difference. Examples include:
- Greater emphasis on and increased funding in early learning.
- The launch of the private/public housing initiative to increase affordable housing (350 units) for essential workers on the Golden Gate golf course.
- Increased awareness of and funding for mental health supports.
- Increased awareness of and funding for career and technical education.
RMSFF will once again co-sponsor with the Collier Community Foundation a second assessment, which will provide a 2022-23 snapshot of the health and well being of the county, how far we’ve come and where we still need some help.
The survey opens for Collier County, Florida residents on November 14th. Learn more and take the survey.
